It depends whether you want your thank you mail to be short or detailed. The length of the email could depend on multiple factors. One being, the relationship established during the initial meet can determine the tone and length of the mail. 

While an interview is just one step in the hiring process, it’s important to follow up with notes that show how enthusiastic you are about future job opportunities. Sending a handwritten note or calling the hiring manager to follow up after an interview shows that you’re interested in following through on the hiring process, and that you’re excited about future opportunities. Keep in mind that you don’t have to follow up with every single interview. If you don’t hear back from a hiring manager, it’s perfectly fine to move on and accept another job offer.
